This privacy statement describes how GuideHop collects and uses the personal information you provide on our Web site: www.guidehop.com. It also describes the choices available to you regarding our use of your personal information and how you can access and update this information.

GuideHop complies with the U.S. – E.U. & Swiss Safe Harbor Framework as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use and retention of personal data from the European Union and Switzerland. Collection and use of personal information

We will share your personal information with third parties only in the ways that are described in this privacy statement. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

We collect personal information from you such as First Name, Last Name, Email, Location, Phone, Languages Spoken, Education, Occupation, and billing/payment information. .

We will use your name and email when you register for an account. When you choose to purchase a tour, we will collect your billing information in order to process your payment. Your Full Name and Phone Number will not be shared with users of the site until you complete a transaction and will only be provided to the party who is either offering or purchasing a service from you at said time. Other information such as Languages Spoken, Education and Occupation, will be shared on your profile page and other locations to assist users to make an informed decision before completing a transaction with you. Your email address will be used for system communication, messaging, internal marketing, and updates from GuideHop.

Communications from the site

We will send you strictly service-related announcements on rare occasions when it is necessary to do so. For instance, if our service is temporarily suspended for maintenance, we might send you an email.

Generally, you may not opt-out of these communications, which are not promotional in nature. If you do not wish to receive them, you have the option to deactivate your account.

You may also elect to receive email or SMS alerts to notify you of updates or reminders. If you wish to no longer receive these notifications you may make the appropriate selections in your account management center. If you elect to receive SMS alerts please note that your carrier's rates may apply.

If you wish to subscribe to our newsletter(s), we will use your name and email address to send the newsletter to you. If you no longer wish to receive these emails you may follow the unsubscribe instructions contained in each of the email communications you receive.

Tell-A-Friend

If you choose to use our referral service to tell a friend about our site, we will ask you for your friend's name and email address. We will automatically send your friend a one-time email inviting him or her to visit the site. GuideHop stores this information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email and tracking the success of our referral program.

Your friend may contact us at support@guidehop.com to request that we remove this information from our database.

Import Contacts

You can import contacts from your Outlook or other email account address book to invite them to become members of our site. We collect the username and password for the email account you wish to import your contacts from and will only use it for that purpose.

Service Providers

We use other third parties such as a credit card processing company or payment processer to bill services, an email service provider to send out emails on our behalf, a customer support provider to process your questions or problems and a communications provider to allow you to import contacts. When you sign up for our services, we will share your personal information only as necessary for the third party to provide that service.

Legal Disclaimer

We reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our Web site.
In the event GuideHop goes through a business transition, such as a merger, acquisition by another company, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, your personally identifiable information will likely be among the assets transferred. You will be notified via email of any such change in ownership or control of your personal information.

Access to Personally Identifiable Information

If your personally identifiable information changes, or if you no longer desire our service, you may correct, update, delete/deactivate it by making the change within your account management center or by emailing our Customer Support at support@guidehop.com. We will respond to your request to access within 30 days.

We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Security

The security of your personal information is important to us. We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. When you enter sensitive information (such as a credit card number) on our order forms, we encrypt the transmission of that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL). Our Web site offers publicly accessible blogs or community forums. You should be aware that any information you provide in these areas may be read, collected, and used by others who access them. To request removal of your personal information from our blog or community forum, contact us at support@guidehop.com. In some cases, we may not be able to remove your personal information, in which case we will let you know if we are unable to do so and why.

Reviews

When you participate in a tour we will provide you the opportunity to post tour reviews on our web site which may contain personally identifiable information. If you wish to request that your testimonial be removed you may by emailing us at support@guidehop.com

Facebook Connect

You can log in to our site using sign-in services such as Facebook Connect or an Open ID provider. These services will authenticate your identity and provide you the option to share certain personal information with us such as your name and email address to pre-populate our sign up form. Services like Facebook Connect give you the option to post information about your activities on this Web site to your profile page to share with others within your network.
